What is Agricultural Biotechnology?
With our growing global population, combined with concerns about food safety and climate change, sustainable agriculture is one of the world’s most important industries.
Agriculture biotechnology (Ag Biotech) applies to all technologies used on the farm involving biological or chemical processes. It is a broad category involving many different types of technology and science, including breeding, genetics, microbiome research, synthetic chemistry, and animal health. It also includes precision agriculture and the utilization of data to increase crop output and nutritional value of food.
