Assistant Professor

The Department of Applied Computer Science at The University of Winnipeg invites outstanding candidates to apply for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields at the time of appointment. Candidates should have research expertise in one of the following areas: Computer Security, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, Gaming, or Multimedia.

Candidates must have a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching and will teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will share in the administrative responsibilities of the department, play an active role in the advising and supervision of students, and have opportunities to supervise students in the department’s M.Sc. program in Applied Computer Science and Society.

Candidates will be responsible for developing curriculum related to the focus areas. The selection committee will begin reviewing applications on May 1, 2019, and will continue until the position is filled; full consideration is assured for applications received by April 30, 2019.

Subject to budgetary approval, this position will be effective from July 1, 2019. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
