Laboratory Technician


XiteBio Technologies Inc., an innovative agriculture microbial biotechnology company, is one of the leading edge ag-biological solutions providers in North America. XiteBio’s IRD (Innovation, Research & Development) Centre researches & develops unique biological product lines and brings them to the Canadian, US & international markets to benefit farmers’ bottom lines. XiteBio offers products like SoyRhizo for soybean; PulseRhizo for pea, lentil & faba bean; and XiteBio Yield+ line for canola, corn, wheat, barley and legumes. XiteBio is currently seeking a full-time laboratory technician in their IRD division at the Winnipeg, MB facility.

The technician will be responsible for agriculture microbiology and plant science related lab and growth room activities, including (not limited to): maintenance & monitoring of instruments, routine maintenance of aseptic conditions, lab analysis, and growing & harvesting of plants. Suitable candidate should have strong commitment to accuracy & team environment, detail-oriented, methodical and organized as well as flexibility to work extended hours when necessary for research work. Good computer competency including Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel and Outlook is required.

A degree or diploma in agriculture, microbiology, soil science, plant science, biology, or adequate combination of experience & education and a valid Manitoba driving license is required. Farming background or knowledge in Canadian farming would be an asset.

This is a full-time permanent position; salary will depend on candidate’s education and experience. XiteBio offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Job location will be at the XiteBio’s IRD Centre at Winnipeg. There is no public transport to the facility and employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from work.
