The Role

Cerebra Medical is looking for an ambitious, hard-working individual that has experience with Android development, including the Android SDK and the Android UI Framework. The Android Developer will play a pivotal role to create unique and user-friendly products that have a direct impact on the success of the company. A successful applicant is driven, self-motivated, and able to work well both within a team and individually.


  • Lead the development of mobile app features
  • Maintain our existing Android app
  • Write clean and stable code and accompanying documentation
  • Work within sprint deadlines to ensure that work is completed on time
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables and provide updates to other team members
  • Work effectively with other developers on large, multi-platform projects
  • Help create testing protocols to use to test our Android applications
  • Assist with ensuring user experience design is consistent with user expectations related to Android applications
  • Participating in daily planning activities such as Scrum meetings
  • Champion quality through your own coding practices

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others, and takes feedback well
  • Experience with the Android SDK and the Android UI Framework
  • Expert understanding of Activity lifecycles and Service concepts
  • Expert in Android UX concepts including Dynamic UIs with Fragments and Language Localization
  • Experience with reactive programming in Android (ex: RxJava)
  • Experience programming in Kotlin
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Design Concepts

What we would love to see

  • Experience with UI testing automation (e.g. Espresso, Appium)
  • Unit testing experience
  • Moderate understanding of user experience and user interface design
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle working on multiple projects simultaneously as part of a high-performing and productive team
  • Understanding of dynamic data transfer and syncing in mobile environments
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent post-secondary education, or equivalent work experience
