Systems Tester

Location: Winnipeg

Reports to: Systems Team Lead

The Systems Tester position is an entry level role, suitable for someone starting their career in the science and engineering field. In this position, the successful applicant will learn to test and deliver a product. Cubresa is a small, dynamic company, and will provide the successful applicant with exposure to the manufacturing, test, installation and customer service portions of the business, with a major focus on verification test.

The person in this position is responsible for the planning and execution of verification and validation tests for the subsystem and system PET equipment that Cubresa manufactures, including: PET Inserts for MRI, mouse and rat bed systems, animal physiology connection systems, MR coil systems and subsystems, as well as other peripherals.

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding the technical operation of PET and MRI subsystems and systems
• Planning for the testing of the PET system and subsystems
• Writing test cases and procedures for system and subsystem testing
• Handling radiation following radiation safety guidelines (training provided)
• Executing tests and producing detailed reports on test conditions and results
• Troubleshooting issues and streamlining testing procedures
• Interpreting test results to allow better design
• Writing of software scripts for test equipment and data analysis
• Specifying, designing, installing and calibrating test equipment
• Assisting with customer installations, training, and acceptance testing

Required Education and Experience
• BSc/BEng in physics, physical chemistry, biomedical, electrical or a related field
• Coursework or experience with medical imaging, including PET and/or MRI
• Computer knowledge: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Some experience with Python or a similar programming language

Desirable Experience
• Experience with verification and validation processes
• Experience working with ionizing radiation sources
• Experience coordinating animal studies or human clinical trials
• Experience working within a quality system based on a standard such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485
• Experience with GATE simulation software
• Experience interacting with clients

• Ability to troubleshoot and come up with innovative ideas to solve problems
• A desire to be excellent, drive, determination
• Must be able to work on their own, self-motivated, detail oriented
• Must be able to work in a group environment
• Must understand the importance of documenting work
