Director of Aerospace Sales & Business Development
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Director of Aerospace Sales and Business Development is responsible for building and maintaining solid client relationships and acting as the bridge between the client and our internal engineering and manufacturing teams. Responsibilities include:
Based on their deep understanding of the Aerospace and gas turbine business sectors, develop and implement sales plans to support business objectives.
Responsible for working with present and prospective clients of Precision ADM to ensure that projects are properly scoped and detailed to enable quoting and production;
Understand all Precision ADM products, services and capabilities, and remain current on emerging technologies and internal capabilities;
Act as the key point of contact between Precision ADM and customers;
Collect detailed project requirements from customers, and in collaboration with Engineering and Project Management, develop detailed quotes for customers;
Support the Hoshin Kanri annual strategic planning process by developing an annual Aerospace and Industrial business development plan;
Work to ensure customer retention alongside new customer acquisitions;
Provide regular reporting on sales plan results, update sales forecasts on a regular basis, and support sales and operations planning;
Develop an understanding of customer business models and communicate that understanding to key internal stakeholders;
Some travel within North America is required client visits, presentations, prospecting, and trade shows.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering or materials science specializing in metallurgy.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales and account management of technology products or services in a business-to-business sales environment.
A minimum of 5 years experience in the aerospace or industrial turbine industry in an engineering or sales role;
Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and to successfully communicate them to customers
Prior work experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment, especially product development from concept to production.
Successful track record of creating sales plans and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong negotiation, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to discover and cultivate new business opportunities leading to sales.
Strong organizational skills, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience using Customer Relationship Management software, preferably Pipedrive.com.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well with others.
