Partnership strengthens drug development pipeline

Canada’s national drug development and commercialization centre, the Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD), says it has entered into a new affiliation agreement with the University of Manitoba. The agreement opens the door for the university’s health researchers to collaborate with CDRD’s drug development and commercialization experts, and access its specialized platform, supporting the development of both small molecule and biologic therapeutics across a broad spectrum of disease indications.

“This new partnership will assist faculty members in moving their research from the lab into practice,” says Digvir Jayas, vice-president (research and international) and distinguished professor at the University of Manitoba. “The resources and expertise will allow us to better assess technologies and move them through proof of concept to developers who can bring the products to market, effectively translating ideas into practice.”
