CAN Health Network and Bioscience Association Manitoba partner to bridge the gap between Canadian inventions and the end user

December 13, 2021 (Winnipeg, Manitoba) – The Coordinated Accessible National (CAN) Health Network is partnering with Bioscience Association Manitoba (BAM) to bridge the gap between Canadian health inventions and the end user, driving increased economic growth for the province and country.

The bioscience industry in Manitoba generates over $10.4 billion in revenue and sales, and employs over 16,000 individuals. Through this partnership, CAN Health and BAM will refer companies and ecosystem players to one another, opening the door for more Canadian innovators to scale, generating increased employment opportunities across the country and implementing top-notch solutions in our health care organizations.

Similar to the CAN Health Network model, through their Advancing Healthcare Initiative, BAM pairs technology innovators directly with health care providers where they have access to a real-world environment to test their solution.

“By partnering with BAM, we can leverage their success and amplify it across the entire country, giving more Canadian companies access to a supportive environment where they can evolve to their full potential,” says Dr. Dante Morra, Chair, CAN Health Network

“After observing the evolution of the biosciences sector, and the challenges that are faced by many SMEs and startups during the COVID pandemic, we decided that now is the right time to develop a new partnership in order to respond better to the industry needs,” says Kim Kline, President, Bioscience Association Manitoba

“Working with the CAN Health Network, we hope to focus on helping these innovators to gain access to facilities and resources to develop and test their new technology, save time on market validation, and increasing their marketability.”
