Since the emergence of COVID-19, testing has been a key pillar of Canada's response to the pandemic.  Rapid tests are used to identify individuals infected with COVID-19 that are either asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic. These tests can be done outside of a medical/laboratory setting with results often in 15 minutes. Some rapid tests can be done as self-tests by individuals as a screening tool to protect workplaces. Self-testing can be a game-changer in keeping staff healthy and in the workplace.

This webinar will:

  • Compare and contrast COVID-19 lab tests, rapid tests, and self-tests, including which have been approved by Health Canada.
  • Demonstrate how self-testing is done using different tests.
  • Describe how self-tests can be used as a screening tool for workplaces.
  • Discuss how self-tests are an important part of the arsenal for public health (along with masks, social distancing, and vaccines) in combatting COVID-19.
