The Steel is growing up!

Hello from the Vermillion Growers Team in Dauphin.  We are thrilled to share some updates on the progress of the greenhouse build.  The most visible and most exciting update is that the powder coated steel for the greenhouse structure is going up!

Even though this steel is getting a lot of attention and appreciation, the underground infrastructure that is required to support the structure and eventual operations is also amazing. Here are a few images that show the progress from the underground work to the standing of the steel.

There are several km’s of underground heat transport lines that have been installed. These lines will move the hot water from the thermal tank to ensure the climate in the greenhouse is consistent and ideal for growing. The Thermal Tank holds 3,000,000 L of water. This water will be heated by the natural gas boilers (located in the warehouse) and then circulated throughout the greenhouse.
The building crew is working 12 hour days / 7 days a week to ensure the structure will be up and enclosed before our lovely summer disappears.  The build progress is noticeable on a daily basis!
